8/52

A portrait of my children: every week: for a whole year.

Jacob :: you still day nap and NEED it! Though you went through a patch of happily popping into bed and going to sleep, you're back in need of a swing most days again. Today though, I let you go, as we had an easy home day and you were all getting on do well playing. The best bit about this? You were asleep by 7:: fast adleep on the couch watching Dora while I put Matilda to bed! Oh I could stare at you for hours when you sleep. So perfect. I just want to freeze the now!

Matilda :: early morning Sunday rise, snuggling and singing your favourite twinkle twinkle :: look at your little hands!

Abby :: this photo is a typical one of you, always so precious with jakey and milly. You get right at their eye level and your connection is so special. You are becoming so independent, and your maturity is flourishing. You now like to shower on your own, you wash your own hair, brush it and yesterday, you stood in front of your mirror on your dresser and carefully blow dried (your little battery toy one from the Christmas Matilda was born). You love makeup and nail polish and playing mums and dads, with Stella and your imaginary kids, usually aged 3 and 5. You still love Lego. You came home from library with a chapter book, which I giggled at the thought of you telling your teachers that was what you wanted!

Busy!!

Miss Matilda! I walk into every room and I can see where you have been! This photo, is a sample of what fun you have! BUT :: your fav room is the toilet! It's common now before going to the toilet, having to fish a toy, a drink bottle or a shoe from the bowl of the toilet!
But amongst your busy-ness, you are learning and blossoming! Every day I think, when did you learn that! You seem to be growing up so quickly now you've hit one!!
You are a quiet achiever. You are persistent! Your fav toy at the moment is the fisher price piggy bank toy that sings songs, but more importantly you push the coins in the slot, and you can sit for 20 mins doing this over and over now that you have mastered it! But when you couldn't do it, you would quietly sit and try and try and sometimes you would get frustrated, and you have a noise you make that tells us that you need help.
Your words you can say are developing.
First word :: bwwdeeee
Your fav word :: dad dadda daddy
Mummm, look, book
You just yesterday started twinkling your fingers and get your pointer fingers together for diamond, and you say over and over upabuba for up above the world so high, and when you say it its kinda in tune to the song. When grandma was here last week she sang it to you in the car, in the pool, in the pram! You love it and now you are doing actions and trying to sing it!

Stills :: a weekly collection

:: our home, front view

:: a special m + j moment!

:: j + a late afternoon searching the bush
in front of our house for rocks.
We drew circles in the sand and threw
our rocks to try to hot the bullseye! We
then sat on the deck and i wrote 'at' on
one of the rocks and initial sounds on
the other to make 'at' words ; cat, mat
etc.

:: on the boat heading home from our
brekky at Denham. This was JUST what
I needed. Replenished my soul. The
weather was amazing! The kids love
being on the boat.

:: Abby soaking in the calm net the ship
loader .

:: Jacob has become very confidant with sitting on the edge of the boat. I think it's time to look into a streamlined life jacket for him that he can wear when moving around on the boat. The only problem is it is just.so.hot!

:: Sam and I ; a selfie, look at his face! His exact words as I took the pic were 'I hate it when you take these' ...

:: sleeping beauty ; fell asleep on my arms as we swam in the shallows near the boat in Denham, it was so arm and relaxing in the water. Love the soft sand over there. She was so out of it as I climbed on the boat took her rashie and put a nappy on her she didn't even stir. She has just started to love 'Bessie' too!

:: our boat at Denham.

:: hot summer days mean the only way to
be outside is WET!! Water slide fun
wears out the wriggles and juggles that
build up from air conditioned inside
bodies! Also makes for an injury or two
As well!!

:: playgroup fun, this was a cooler day so
we could actually be outside and not
too many flies, bonus!!

:: fruit time at playgroup. This was
Matilda's first time sitting up at the fruit
table, she loved it!!

:: Matilda in the fridge, one of her fav
places to be!

:: Abby's first day of school, so happy and
excited here, quickly changed to quiet
years and a clinging koala once we were
in the classroom!!

:: photo with jakey, he so thinks he's
ready to go to school!!

:: covering school books til the early hours of the eve of first day of school! I was really happy with my efforts and the contacting part was not traumatic as I thought it would be!!! I hope Abby thinks of me
And how much I love her each time she opens these books I have covered for her.

:: miss Matilda, growing up, now becoming more independent at bedtime. I no longer feed her to sleep, I feed her and she is happy to go into her cot for a play and a sleep! My baby!!
